The LGCA partnered with Gambling Research Exchange Ontario (GREO) to store datasets from our research program in its data repository so more students and academics have access. The LGCA is also open to collaboration and data sharing with other external scholars as these are important ways to increase the value of research.
2017 Manitoba Cannabis Survey (MCS)
The MCS collected information on how Manitobans used cannabis, how their activities might change after legalization and their expectations for information and public safety. The dataset also includes questions about motives, as well as the AUDIT and CUDIT-R scales.

Liquor and Gambling in Manitoba
Every three years, the LGCA conducts a province-wide survey on the patterns of liquor and gambling – and now cannabis – knowledge and behaviours. These datasets are utilized internally but are available to researchers for projects. Students are especially encouraged to use these data for graduate theses and dissertations.

Manitoba Longitudinal Study of Young Adults (MLSYA)
The Manitoba Longitudinal Study of Young Adults (MLSYA) dataset can be used to examine many issues affecting young adults in Manitoba. Along with its MLSYA partners, the LGCA is pleased to make this valuable longitudinal dataset available to external researchers. Researchers may apply to use the dataset for their own research studies, which do not necessarily need to be related to liquor consumption or gambling. Applications may be submitted at any time, and eventually the MLSYA will be stored at GREO’s data repository. In the meantime, please email the research department if you would like to apply.
