Any sale of a business entity that has a delivery licence must be reported to the LGCA at least 10 business days prior to the closing date of the sale. The new owners must apply for a licence to operate the delivery service before taking ownership.

You must notify the LGCA in writing of any changes to your business entity, principals or location. This includes changes in contact information, shareholders or the sale of the business.

Can a liquor service licensee, manufacturer with a retail endorsement, or licensed retailer continue to use their staff to deliver liquor or cannabis, or do they have to hire a licensed delivery service?
A retail or service licensee may use their own staff to deliver liquor or cannabis as per the terms and conditions specific to their licence. There is no requirement to use a licensed delivery service to deliver liquor or cannabis.
My delivery service has been delivering liquor and/or cannabis for several years. Do I still need a licence?
Yes. As of December 17, 2021, any organization, association, group or partnership, corporation or any other business must be licensed by the LGCA to deliver liquor and/or cannabis in Manitoba.
