of Predecessor Organizations
The LGCA's predecessor organization, the Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba was formed on April 1, 2014, as the single provincial regulator for liquor and gaming. The Liquor and Gaming Authority of Manitoba combined the services previously provided by the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission and the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission's regulatory services division.
On April 1, 2022, the LGCA's authority was expanded to the regulation of horse racing and the regulatory responsibilities of the Manitoba Horse Racing Commission were integrated into our organization.
